Final Fantasy VII ...continued

So the techsupport at Eidos finally got back to my ass, and after a week of working with me, and me sending my Dxinfo report, I haven't heard back, and still have no clue about why my sound don't cut it. Let's give a big hand to Eidos and their techsupport staff.

What? You want to shut my whining up and tell you about the game? I guess it's only fair. For starters, the graphics in the game, are stunning. At least to me and my friends. I still run a Voodoo1 and a K-6 233, but graphics are smooth enough, fast enough, and they be lookin' plenty good. I'm not one of those spoiled 12 meg Voodoo2 SLI bitches who whines when they can't get 200 fps while displaying on a 85hz refresh.

As for the story, Final Fantasy games have always been big on story and substance, but it gets cheezy and silly at times. Not to say that it's dumb, but there are parts of the story I'd rather just skip over so I can smash someone's head in. On the subject of smashing in heads, the combat system in the games makes for good times. After getting your ass smacked around for long enough, you'll get really pissed and rip shit up. Your characters each have a different limit attack, from Cloud's overhead sword slashes to Barett's big shot arm cannon blasts. This makes getting beat up pretty fun. The rest of the fighting is interesting mainly due to the animation used in the attacks. It's quite fun to actually see your character run up to something and smash it.

Despite the technical problems experienced by me and quite a few others I've heard from, the game itself is quite good. The story is long enough, and the world is large enough to keep someone playing for at least 35 hours of play. From my estimates, it'll take me about 50. Final Fantasy games have always been great fun, so give it a go or tell a friend to buy it and stay over.
