Wild Strawberries
One of my favourite groups are the Wild Strawberries, a husband and wife duo out of Toronto. Their sound is of ambient grooves, bass action, and space transmissions put together mainly by Ken Harrison. If I had a rocketship and had to fuel it with style, I'd pump it full of Strawberries.

roberta I saw the Strawberries twice when they came to Vancouver in April of 98. I went to see them do an in-store at the Virgin megastore in the afternoon, and afterwards got Ken and Roberta's autographs. I was somewhat at a loss of words and didn't shake Roberta's hand cos I had the flu (which drained me incredibly that day). Meeting them was a very cool experience. Both seemed very down to earth, humorous, and cheerful. They were definitely a very cool couple, and were very genuine.

Later, I saw them in concert at Richard's on Richards where they put on an even better show. I had thought that they would be a better studio band due to the use of samples and synths, but I was absolutely amazed at them live. They were incredible, and I left that night an even bigger fan than before. My friend Ashley was able to get some photos due to our press credentials.

Sound clips

Here are some MP3 files I put together. They're about a minute or so long, and are sampled at high quality so you can hear all the sounds and textures they put together better.
